Nancy + Mike – A Long Branch Wedding at Avenue

Nancy and Mike were married last weekend at a beautiful outdoor ceremony on the rooftop of Avenue in Long Branch, NJ.  I’m so excited to share my favorite images from their wedding.  The whole day felt care-free and fun, and the details were incredible.   I won’t babble anymore; just look at these!  I’m in love!

The dress and the detail on Nancy’s bouquet was delicious:

Her simple and elegant Jimmy Choo shoes:

Nancy’s beautiful sister helped with her dress:

I love her eyelashes!

Wow.  Seriously, wow!

Once again I am so thankful for a bride and groom who wanted to do a “First Look” moment before their ceremony:

This was so sweet.  Mike totally had to check out every detail when he first saw Nancy.  Here he his admiring her veil:

I loved the way this gazebo-like structure framed the gorgeous blue sky of their wedding day:

A big thanks goes out to Peter Miller for assisting me at this wedding and capturing this gorgeous shot:

Chance of rain?  Nah.

All the flowers were expertly arranged by Floral Fantasy, the owner of which also happens to be a very good friend of the bride and groom.  They looked absolutely stunning.

As the sun began to set, they said their vows:

I love capturing the, “We’re married!” moment.  It’s a true joy.

Some gorgeous, yummy light and a perfect wedding couple:

We took a few minutes to do some wedding photos down by the beach, which I adore:

Avenue is a super chic, trendy, colorful space that was perfect for the party atmosphere Nancy and Mike wanted to create.  When I first met them, they excitedly told me that their reception was to have the feel of a hip, modern club.  They wanted their guests to have a great time and not worry about the traditions of a typical wedding reception.  If the rooftop pool and colors in this image are any indication, I think they pulled it off:

Behind the pool was a great fireplace area and I caught these bridesmaids posing in front of it:

Inside, the dance floor seriously rocked thanks to DJ Unique.  He’s ridiculously good and NOT your typical wedding DJ.  He’s really an A-lister and has been DJing for years at seriously popular NYC and NJ clubs.   Nerio Matheus, an amazing percussionist, also enhanced the music with his mad skills.   It was so cool to hear the DJ’s music and the drums work so well together.  I was floored by how cool the sound was!

Meanwhile, out in front of the dancing, guests were lining up near the TV to watch the Yankees in extra innings against the Twins:

This proves that you CAN dance with grandma and still manage to watch the Yankees game!

And here’s what it’s like to be at a wedding reception when the Yankees win:

Woohoo!

The party went late into the night with the guests joining in on the percussion.  A little more cowbell, perhaps?  :)

Nancy and Mike, thank you so much for an awesome time … I was right out there dancing too, and this wedding was one of the best parties I’ve seen!  I hope you’re having an amazing time on your honeymoon, and enjoy this preview of your photos!
