I have a simple philosophy: Make photographs that are interesting, meaningful and real.

My life-long love for photography has followed me everywhere. My creativity blossomed shooting with my 35mm Pentax in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Mexico and Peru. My portraiture evolved at a boutique studio in the Pacific Northwest. My favorite photographs have emerged while shooting life and culture in New York City. My images share authentic elements of interest, unscripted emotion, humor, and love. They are blissfully real moments in my life. I would be so honored to capture the real moments in yours.

I enjoy movies with happy endings, freshly-brewed black coffee, and live jazz. I love to travel, but have yet to backpack through Europe. I love city lights and I love mountains. I married a mathematician - one of the most creative people I know.

After living most my life in Michigan and Washington, I now reside in Northern New Jersey and spend much of my time in New York City. I'm currently accepting wedding commissions throughout the United States and other destinations.

Check these two out!

I just received a mobile photo from my friend Kim who is enjoying one of the biggest photographer trade shows of the season in Nashville, TN – ImagingUSA. It’s hosted in a different city each year by Professional Photographers of America. Sadly, I wasn’t able to go to the conference this year, but I’m definitely enjoying the tweets and Facebook statuses of my fellow photogs who are there learning lots and enjoying all of the photo industry excitement!

Sarah and Drew’s super-cute CD case is on display in the MpixPro booth at ImagingUSA. How cool is that? I love it that my clients are looking fabulous while thousands of photographers stop by the MpixPro booth!

Did I mention I LOVE MpixPro for printing/assembling all of my DVD cases and image boxes? They totally rock!

More wedding albums delivered – in time for Thanksgiving!

Before I head out on a trip to visit my family in Michigan for Thanksgiving, I just thought this album deserved a quick post. I delivered Yaeko and Eric’s album today and I LOVE it. This is such a beautiful example of simple, classic design to highlight the images and truly make a timeless keepsake. I love that they took me up on the suggestion of a silk cover with a suede leather wraparound. Because my albums are completely custom, I’m able to work with my clients to truly make their album one-of-a-kind. I encourage all of my couples to think beyond the black leather cover and create something unique!

Here’s what my custom album packaging looks like. Albums come wrapped in this gorgeous paper with an amazing leaf embellishment:

Wedding Albums Galore!

Cassandra and Joe’s wedding album arrived and I just had to snap a few images before I shipped it out to them yesterday. I offer so many cover choices and it’s so great when a couple takes me up on my suggestion to try something different than the standard black leather. This album incorporates the couple’s wedding colors to the fullest extent and it totally rocks. The handmade leather cover brings out the yellow in Cassandra’s bouquet, and the design enhances the colors in the bridesmaids’ dresses. This album is seriously delicious. Yet another wedding album that I wanted to keep for myself. ;)

Also, check out this turn-around time … Cassandra and Joe were married on July 18, had their favorite images picked out by the end of August, and after design time and production time, their complete album will be in their hands less than 3 months after their wedding!

Another Wedding Album

I guess I could call this both wedding season and wedding album season! I love, love, love getting new albums in. I just delivered this one to Neha and Joe (remember their Westminster Hotel wedding from June?). Lots of beautiful color in this album. I kinda wish I could keep it for myself!
