I love that Cristina and Jesse’s engagement session was almost like a typical Saturday for them. Cristina lives just a block from Central Park, so they stroll through the park together any chance they can get. Central Park means a lot to them since it was where they met, at a concert on the Great Lawn. They also love riding their bikes around the neighborhood, as well as stopping by their local cupcake shop (where Jesse bought the cupcakes he used to spell out “Will you marry me?” last October). Cristina is an editor at Time Out New York, so you’ll notice an issue in which she played a big role also played a role in their photos! They wanted to include their chosen wedding colors as well, so a lovely bunch of balloons made a playful appearance, too. Now, if only I didn’t have to wait an entire year to see the yellow, navy and teal wedding they are planning! I love this couple!

Cristina and Jesse, thank you for spending your Saturday with me! I had the most wonderful time, and I’m so glad it didn’t even rain a drop! Here’s to clear skies on your wedding day next year. I can’t wait!

I fell head over heels for Kelly and Chris from our first phone conversation last year. They were kind, easy going, and you could just tell right through the phone that Kelly was smiling the whole time we were talking. Their engagement session proved to be one of the most fun I had last year, so I just knew their wedding would be amazing. When the day came, they were blessed with the most perfect spring weather and bright green trees. There was also wonderful sentimental value in their reception venue, The Tuxedo Club. It just so happened that Kelly’s parents had had their wedding reception there, too!
It was clear that Kelly and Chris spent a lot of time and care planning the details of their wedding from the floral selections to the handmade items to the Polaroid camera and guestbook available to entertain guests during the reception. Kelly admitted she spent tons of time scouring all of the popular wedding blogs for ideas, and all of that planning certainly paid off when I saw the gorgeous handmade escort cards arranged, each with a unique vintage button, and the beautiful programs which the couple printed and assembled themselves.
The flowers, done by the incredibly talented Denise Fasanello Floral Design, were an assortment of mostly peonies and ranuculus in stunning shades of white, pink and coral. I already have a photographer’s crush on peonies, and these absolutely made my day! The color combination of the bouquets against the bridesmaids’ plume-colored Ann Taylor dresses was just exquisite. (And how much fun is the color plume?! You’re brilliant, Ann Taylor, hinting at the color of a peacock plume!)
In all, this wedding was a beautiful celebration of love. Kelly and Chris, I’m so thankful for your trust in me to capture the details and special moments of your day. I was so inspired by your wedding!
