TransAlt

Some of you may know about my obsession with public transit. I’ve been riding the bus and/or train as much as I possibly can for the past two years, which has allowed my husband and I to give up our second car altogether. Honestly, someone should tell the Geico Gekko about this trick to saving hundreds on your car insurance: just own one car! :) It’s been great.

Anyway, last week I had the opportunity to volunteer with Transportation Alternatives, an established NYC organization devoted to promoting … you guessed it … alternative modes of transportation. Namely, getting single drivers out of the car and onto bikes, buses, and trains. They’ve been around since 1973, and are certainly one of the most established transit organizations in the nation. I helped put together a mailing for NYC Bike Month, which is May!

And check out more about their advocacy campaigns here. These guys rock and they know it. :)

Busy bee

Well, in the midst of editing the code for a new online proofing system, I’ve lost track of time, and blogging has again been put on the back burner. But lo, at least one funny Mexico pic deserves to be on the blog, even if I can’t get to the rest of them right now! (Business before personal pics, you know …)

Here’s my husband being the goof he always is. :)

On another note, I’m getting really excited about everything the New York Metro area has in store for me. Super nice clients and fun stuff to do alike. Who knew I could actually uproot my business from the other side of the country and still land on my feet. Thanks to all my 2008 NJ and NY brides and grooms. This wedding season is going to rock because of you!
