Esther & Michael - A Gramercy Park Hotel Wedding

Ok, here’s one more blog post before I really leave for Thanksgiving. I just had to blog a few of my favorites from Esther and Michael’s amazing Gramercy Park Hotel wedding. Let me just say, there were smiles everywhere at this wedding. There was hardly a moment where Esther and Michael weren’t laughing or smiling at each other. I had a fabulous time photographing their day, and I’m just so thankful that I’m blessed to work with such amazing clients. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Enjoy these images!

Manolos, of course:

I love this shot that my assistant Tawny captured while Michael was choosing which tie to wear:

Esther knows the way to a photographer’s heart is through peonies in a bouquet:

This was so cute. As they were putting the finishing touches on their wedding attire, Michael of course broke out into some dancing:

The ceremony was so gorgeous with candle light and little twinkling lights draped all around the rooftop garden:

I told you there was a lot of smiling and laughing:

Oh my goodness, I’m in love with this hotel:

Flowers were expertly done by Seasons, an amazing New York floral design studio. They were absolutely stunning:

Again, the laughter and smiles never left Esther’s face:

This cake was made by one of Esther’s childhood friends! It was incredible!!

And I should mention, there were actually TWO cakes! Both made by this talented friend of the bride’s!

Here’s a dancing image to end on. These two could have danced all night:

Esther and Michael, thank you so much for allowing me to share in your day as your photographer! You two are simply the best!

More wedding albums delivered - in time for Thanksgiving!

Before I head out on a trip to visit my family in Michigan for Thanksgiving, I just thought this album deserved a quick post. I delivered Yaeko and Eric’s album today and I LOVE it. This is such a beautiful example of simple, classic design to highlight the images and truly make a timeless keepsake. I love that they took me up on the suggestion of a silk cover with a suede leather wraparound. Because my albums are completely custom, I’m able to work with my clients to truly make their album one-of-a-kind. I encourage all of my couples to think beyond the black leather cover and create something unique!

Here’s what my custom album packaging looks like. Albums come wrapped in this gorgeous paper with an amazing leaf embellishment:

And before it’s unwrapped, here’s a detail of this 30-page 10×10 album’s pages:

THIS is the amazing cover, folks. Delicate silk design and suede wraparound. I’m in love:

And, of course, a shot of one of my favorite spreads from the ceremony:

Now, I’m off to order another copy of this album as a sample for myself!

Sarah & Drew - A Central Park Engagement Session

This is one of those blog posts where I just want to start typing a bunch of exclamation points; I’m so excited to share these images. Really!!!!!!! I love this couple! (There, I got it out of my system.) ;)

Sarah and Drew are such a fun-loving couple and their attitude is contagious. I found myself laughing right along with them, and in all of our rambling around Central Park, I think I became just as excited about their wedding as they are. I don’t know what else to say except that I wouldn’t mind speeding right through winter to get to this wedding. But, for now, let’s get to the engagement photos!

I love that there were so many leaves out on the Great Lawn and the light was just right:

Drew is so good at making Sarah laugh!

We headed over to Bethesda Terrace to get a few images by the Angel of Waters Fountain. This place is always packed, and it was especially so on this amazing day, but I love that we managed to minimize the extra people in this shot.

They’re relaxed, happy, and in love. Makes for good engagement photos!

I was so thrilled when I looked through these branches of colorful leaves to find perfect placement for each of their faces. :)

This willow tree is one of my absolute favorite spots in Central Park. I loved it in the spring when I shot Neha & Joe’s engagement session, and here it is again with the leaves about ready to fall:

This couple is good at every look: romantic, joyful, serious. Here they are being fabulously fierce:

And incredibly cute:

There is such an awesome mix of natural daylight and fluorescent lights in this space:

So happy:

The colors on this afternoon were perfect. The last bit of autumn, and I think the best way to spend a day like this is by making photographs!

Finally, this is one of my absolute favorites. I just love everything about it:

Wow, Sarah and Drew, you guys are so much fun! I can’t wait for your wedding next year!

Esther & Michael - A New York City Engagement Session

They were lucky enough to get a key to Gramercy Park. I was lucky enough to get a couple so in love, they forgot I was shooting their photos. And that’s a perfect combination.

I can’t wait for this couple’s wedding next weekend at the Gramercy Park Hotel. Here is a glimpse into their engagement session, which was by far one of the most fun of the season. Michael makes Esther laugh constantly, and he also loves to dance, which seriously made for one happy photographer.

When I told them to have a seat on this bench, this is what they did naturally. Perfect:

And then, the dancing ensued. Yes, I barely got Esther’s hand in the shot on the right, but these lovebirds were moving quickly! I didn’t know what they were going to do next! I love it:

Awesome color and an awesome couple:

There’s something I love about this photo. It’s sweet, while being a little sophisticated. I don’t know … as if I interrupted a conversation they were having and they graciously obliged to have their photo taken, knowing how fabulous they looked. I just think it’s cool:

Michael continued to lead the dancing:

And I’ll end on this one, which was yet another pose they just naturally fell into after I placed them in this spot beneath the trees:

They’re such naturals, I know they’ll also play the part of bride and groom incredibly well! See you two next weekend!

Jessica & Greg ~ NJ Botanical Gardens Engagement Session

About a week ago, I had the honor of hanging out for a couple of hours with this super cool couple. I think it was actually the peak day for autumn color this season; the perfect moment of oranges, yellows and reds on trees still full of their leaves. The parking lots of the NJ Botanical Gardens were absolutely packed with people taking advantage of the beautiful day.

Jess and Greg are getting married next July, and just from this session, I know for a fact their wedding is going to be so full of love and laughter. I can’t wait! Here are a few of my favorites from this totally delightful engagement session:

It’s hard for me to pick a favorite favorite, but this is definitely one of them:

And, wow. Where did spring come from?! Were these pink leaves not the coolest find?!

What a PERFECT session! Thanks, Jess and Greg, for rockin’ it!
