Katlyn + Mitch | A West Chicago Engagement Session

A few days before the big Chicago snowstorm of 2011 (#SNOMG!, anyone?) I had the pleasure of photographing Katlyn and Mitch’s engagement session.

At first, they were leaning toward a downtown Chicago engagement session, but when it came right down to it, they decided to choose a location that was most meaningful for them. That spot happened to be a short walk down a little path in the woods near Katlyn’s house, where they two of them have spent lots of time over the years enjoying nature and each other’s company.

But before we headed out to their special location, we spent a little time shooting at Buca di Beppo in Lombard, since it was at the restaurant’s downtown Chicago location where they had dinner the night Mitch proposed.

It was a lovely walk when we headed out to their spot - down the snowy path, surrounded by gorgeous wintry branches.

Mitch really knows how to work the camera.

And Katlyn’s eyes? Gorgeous.

They also brought along a sweet polka-dot blanket to keep warm, which was a gift from a family member. How sweet!

I love shooting in the winter. Thank you, Katlyn and Mitch, for the treat of photographing your engagement session in the snow! Now, November can’t get here fast enough - I’m so excited for your wedding!
