Rebecca + Chris | Chicago Art Institute Engagement Session

Not only did I have the pleasure of spending a perfect spring afternoon with Rebecca and Chris, but I also got to meet their dog, Bear! We divided our time between the gardens of the Art Institute of Chicago, Millennium Park, and the Lurie Garden. What a treat when a couple brings their dog to their engagement session!

Shelah + Jeff | A Chicago Engagement Session

Over the years, Shelah and Jeff’s relationship has spanned continents, but they’re finally back together in Chicago for their upcoming wedding at the end of this month. I’m thrilled that I’ll be there to photograph their vows - especially after witnessing first-hand just how deeply in love they are! We started out their engagement session with a few photos in the West Loop, and then made our way over to the gorgeous trees and unforgettable skyline views in Olive Park.

Nanae + Brandon | A Chicago Engagement Session

I just adore this couple - an unlikely duo of one part classical guitarist, one part heavy metal drummer. Not only have they been regulars to Intelligentsia and Reckless Records in the past, but Brandon actually proposed to Nanae in the record store. On that particular date, Nanae came across a surprise while browsing the records - a picture of the two of them and a romantic list of songs that described their love. Pretty brilliant, if you ask me. She, of course, said yes. I was thrilled to bring them back to Lakeview for some photos in these special locations, and then wrap the session with some of the loveliest evening light around the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Lincoln Park. Needless to say, I’m incredibly excited to photograph their wedding in August!

Mona + Bob | Chicago Engagement Session

Mona and Bob’s engagement session was a classic example of spring in Chicago - windy and cold one minute, sunny and calm the next. During their quick engagement session downtown, the weather went from downright miserable to pretty tolerable in a matter of a half hour. These lovely city-dwellers chose to begin their session on the Terrace at Trump (coincidentally the windiest portion of the shoot!) and wrap up with some images on the streets below. I am really looking forward to their wedding in July!

Annabel + Felipe | NYC Central Park Engagement Session

New York brought out some of its best spring weather for Annabel and Felipe’s engagement session. These two had their first dates in Manhattan and, like so many of us, have enjoyed some of their favorite days in Central Park. So, it was only natural for the park to be the location for their engagement photos!
