Erica & Mike - Engagement Session

Well, I have to hand it to these guys. They braved 90+ degree weather during their engagement session … and looked good doing it! With lots of water breaks and a pause for air-conditioning and drinks at the Soho Grand Hotel, we made it through the afternoon.

We began the shoot at the spot where the two first met. Mike, the guitarist for indie-progressive-rock group Near Forever, was playing at the Knitting Factory one night, and Erica accompanied a “groupie” friend of hers to the show. Music brought them together, and sparks flew. Now, tons of shows later and a Warped Tour under their belt, the two are planning their October 11 wedding.

Here is just a taste of the e-session images captured last weekend. I can’t wait to shoot the wedding!

^ True love: courtesy of the Knitting Factory.

^ Mike actually told me he loved “serious” photos right before this one was shot. :) Well, we’ll get to those.

^ Erica. Absolutely stunning.

^ A little more serious for you, Mike.

^ But, really, Mike can’t stay serious for long. He had Erica laughing all afternoon.

^ Sign of a good relationship: you laugh at eachother’s jokes!

Thanks again for an awesome e-session guys! Enjoy this preview.

E-Sessions in March!

Yes, it is possible to get a great day in March for an engagement session outdoors! Tara and Dave, whose wedding I’ll be shooting in July, were both great sports as the weather started out super chilly and cloudy, then moved to bright and sunny. The cold may not have gone away completely, so a nice leather jacket and a warm hug from Dave kept Tara pretty warm between shots. This couple is so creative … Tara is a graphic designer for Little i, a company that produces the cutest little tins of mints. She’s hand picked so many details for her wedding, including designing her own mint tin as favors for her wedding guests. Here’s to this crafty couple and their excellent E-session!
