Penny + J.J. - Point Pleasant Beach Wedding

Here’s a wedding I shot on one of the most gorgeous summer Saturdays we had this year. The ceremony was held at the beautiful Bayhead Chapel in Point Pleasant and the reception at the nearby Crystal Point Yacht Club. Check out my favorites from their day.

Penny, looking gorgeous:

Gotta love the look on the groom’s face when he sees his bride walking down the aisle.

Bayhead Chapel is so lovely.

How’s this for joy?

The beach is just a short block away from the chapel, so we spent a good amount of time doing photos here. Again, it was a perfect day! (I even made an appearance in this photo … I’m the shadow.)

This girl was having so much fun. It’s great to be a bride!

Their cake was fantastic, and I love how happy they look. (They looked like this all day, of course!)

Rings on a seashell. Love it.

I’m always on the lookout for “moments” during the first dance. I want to capture something different than just a straight shot of the couple dancing. I’m pretty pleased with the emotion in this one.

And finally, we used the power of my favorite camera (the 5D MarkII) to get a romantic shot in the dim light after sunset.

Sheila + Jon ~ A Wedding in Tenafly, NJ

Let’s continue with my tardy blogging streak. (Finally, I’m a blogging machine today!) Of course, Sheila and Jon have been enjoying all of their photos for weeks now, but I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you, my loyal (or not so loyal anymore) blog readers. :)

The dress:

LOVED the perfect lilies in her bouquet. And Sheila’s mom’s beautiful reaction to seeing her daughter as a bride:

A bagpiper announced the ceremony … and guests loved it! (So did I.)

A beautifully emotional processional:

One of my favorite things to do is capture both the bride and groom’s faces during the ceremony.

The light in this church was simply fabulous.

The reception was held at the Clinton Inn Hotel in Tenafly, NJ, which was right across the street from the church they were married in. The Tenafly police were kind enough to simply stop traffic for the wedding guests as they crossed the road!

The fabulous bride and groom.

The look between them is lovely, and it’s always fun when the bride gives a speech. Jon approved. :)

This was one outstanding group of wedding guests who got the dancing started right away!

Jon’s sons and their friends hit the dance floor too.

And I just adore this shot!

Lauren + Matt ~ A ‘Just Because’ Session

When we began planning Lauren and Matt’s session, Lauren told me that she thought ‘Engagement Session’ was a funny title since they had been engaged for months! Hey, I completely understand that; most of my couples book me months after their engagement. And, well, I’m not married to that session title … how about a ‘Just Because’ session instead? :) So that’s what we decided on.

Lauren is planning a beautiful theme for their October wedding … sort of a ‘Spring into Fall’ motif and I had that in mind when I was setting up this shot. Did I get it right Lauren?

I loved the spring buds on the trees, but I also really enjoy this one in a nice warm black and white:

I wasn’t entirely sure if Lauren and Matt were country folk, so I asked if a shot by the barn was cool with them. Turns out Lauren is an equestrian gal, so the barn was a go! We also got a kick out of the pig weather vane. So cute!

We even stepped into the barn for a quick shot. And sure, it wasn’t an engagement session per se, but I still had to get a shot of the ring!

And finally, this covered bridge was so great with a nice tunnel of light filtering in … love it!

Would you have guessed all of these photos were shot at a zoo? The zoo at Van Saun County Park in Bergen County, NJ, to be precise. It’s one of Lauren and Matt’s favorite places and it made a perfect setting for their photos!
